On June 5th, Mr Yuan ZI, General Secretary of the Chinese Overseas Private Funds Association and Chief Operating Officer of Golden Nest Capital Management was invited to speak at the renowned Greenwich Economic Forum Hong Kong (GEF HK 2024) on the panel of “Are the China Markets Really Uninvestible?” Mr ZI shared his view on the recent market rally and improved outlook of China equity, specifically how the new regulatory measures and government policies which has already shifted the demand and supply of stocks. Despite the market sentiment and geopolitical uncertainties, the historically low and relative valuation represents good opportunities for contrarian investors and he thinks global capital will return to the region.
At the event, Mr Zi also introduced the Chinese Overseas Private Funds Association (COPFA), which is a non-profit industry association aiming to elevate the standards and reputation of Chinese overseas private fund managers, as well as facilitate the dialogue, communication and collaboration of the community. We believe COPFA would play a vital role bridging the gap between truth and narrative, and reducing the misinformation about the China market and asset managers.
This year’s GEF HK was a resounding success, featuring distinguished speakers such as Ray Dalio, Julia Leung, Cathie Wood, Michael Spence etc. Their expertise sparked thought-provoking conversations among high-profile attendees.
