
On 13 February 2025, COPFA co-hosted with HSBC an in-person seminar with HSBC Prime Finance on the subject of Fundraising Globally: how to position yourself for success.
The event was held in prestigious HSBC headquarter building in Central, Hong Kong. A number of participants from the managers, including international managers, top tier institutions and fund allocators attended the event with positive interactions. The interactive discussion panel included experts from HSBC (Chris Pang), Penjing Asset Management (Eugene Chau), Chartwell Family Partners (Daniel Jim) and GCM Grosvenor (John Zhang). They shared their valuable insight on best practices for Asian managers looking to raise fund from global institutions, operational due diligence (ODD) and asset allocations.
COPFA Honorary Chairman, David Lau, delivered an opening speech in which he urged the participants, both LP’s and GP’s, to be Receptive and Open-minded in the ways that they evaluate Chinese asset classes and Chinese private fund managers as the Chinese GP’s continue to pursue readiness for international investors. Following the panel discussion, participants took part in a cocktail and networking session.
